AllOutMMAGear – From Miami to the World
One of the great sponsors we have for our CageJunkies One Year Anniversary/UFC 148 Watch Party is Miami’s own AllOut MMA Gear. The folks over at AllOut gave us a few minutes of their time to talk about their amazing store. Check out our interview below!
Tell us about AllOutMMAGear, when did it get started, how it got started, and who started it?
Back in 2007 I (Alain D. Sanchez) started a company Allout Fight Gear LLC (ALLOUT, one word… lol) with the idea of opening the first MMA Store in Miami. Two investors partnered up with me but due to the downfall of the economy at the time we were not able to go through with the deal. Later in 2008, thanks to the idea of one of my current partners Marco Canada, I began to sell MMA products in Venezuela through a website similar to Ebay called Mercado Libre. It is safe to say that Allout Fight Gear was the first company to ever sell an MMA shirt or Short in that country. Through that same site these products got a lot of exposure to many other countries in South America. Things went well and the demand for the products was rapidly increasing. I never gave up on the store idea and I pitched it to Marco. Finally, after 3 years of trying to convince him, he and another good friend Adan Brown partnered up with me and we agreed to start with the internet site in 2011. Alloutmmagear.com was founded under the parent company Allout Fight Gear LLC. Besides internet sales worldwide we began to push the distribution of the products in South America. After a some months of seen the demand increase and having store and gym owners visit us from different countries we decided that we needed to have a showroom and have some of the merchandise displayed so we got a space at a warehouse in Doral and set it up. At the beginning of May of this year we decided that It was time to get a better place to show our clients from overseas and create local traffic as well so we formed the Allout Fight Shop, 4805 N.W. 79th Ave, unit 9, Doral FL 33166. The store is fully functional right now and all of our merchandise is displayed. We have already begun to spread the word but we will have a formal grand opening very soon. We are just working out some last details.
Are you currently sponsoring any fighters?
We have sponsored fighters like Sean “Big Sexy” MacCorkle (CFA), Yoislandy “Cuba” Izquierdo (CFAlightweight title fight), Gabriel “Stunna” Varona (CFA), Dennis Olson (CFA), Alejandro Gamez (FighTime Promotions) and other fighters and training camps overseas. Right at this moment we don’t have contracts with any fighters because we are allocating all of our efforts to the store, but we will soon restore that side of the marketing and prepare a good platform to facilitate it. Our affiliate program is getting its final touches. This program is geared toward gyms and fighters were they will have the opportunity to earn side income from sales of our products that they may generate through their members/fan base. This program will be a big help specially for the fighters.
Recently, you started carrying the Kwok Wah Ying clothing line, by another South Florida entrepreneur, Ray Avon. How did that relationship come about?
We met Ray at one of the CFA events were we had a booth and he expressed interest in selling his line on our store and website. One of the slogans we use on our social media interactions is “Alloutmmagear.com, From Miami to the World”, so it seems only fitting that we help push a local MMA clothing line.
Are there any other local brands/promoters/fighters you’ll be working with in the future?
As part of the South Florida MMA community we will definitely get involve and work with more localc brands, fighters, promoters and managers. We have already and will continue to work with Crossfit gyms as many of our products are a great fit for these athletes as well.
Any future projects you have in the works? And if you could look into the future, where would you like to see AllOutMMAGear a few years from now?
As I mentioned before, we are putting all our efforts on the Allout Fight Shop and making sure that everyone in South Florida knows that they now have a real MMA store where they can get their favorite brands at great prices. No need for internet anymore and having to wait to get your products, get them TODAY. Our goal is to have Alloutmmagear.com be the biggest distributor of MMA Gear and Apparel for South America and the Allout Fight Shop to be South Florida’s biggest and favorite MMA store.
How do you see the future of MMA in South Florida?
The MMA scene in South Florida is growing and the interest from the community as well. Gyms are opening everywhere and now we have a store as well. The UFC event was not a total success in our area, mostly because of the card and lack of advertising, but with the addition of the Miami fighters to the UFC roster and all the other MMA promoters having events down here it will only get better.
