The Ultimate Fighter returning to pre-taped format, staying on Friday’s

The Ultimate Fighter: Live experiment is over. After switching from a pre-taped format to a live format for season 15 of the reality series, the program will be going back with season 16. White cited programming overruns and the inability to develop storylines to introduce fighters as a few of the reasons for the change. White also took on those that point to declining ratings of the show explaining that former television partner Spike TV was leaking ratings to MMA web sites and presenting them in a misleading way. According to White the overall viewership from the last season on Spike compared to the first season on FX was less, but it was largely because of the switch in days. “FX wants to try it again on Friday nights,” White said. “But if it’s not up to the standards I’m expecting, I’m pretty sure they’ll give me what I want. But this season was a smash hit home run for them.”
