Rampage Jackson Fights Shogun, Then Out Of UFC

UFC President Dana White went on to UFC Tonight (Fuel TV every Tuesday at 10pm ET) and delivered a surprising statement. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson would get his wish for a rematch with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua prior to departing UFC. For days Jackson has made it clear that he was done fighting for the promotion, but surprisingly the UFC granted Jackson a favor as to who he would face.
The pair fought seven years ago in the now-defunct PRIDE Fighting Championships, with Rua winning by first-round TKO. Jackson would later say that he wasn’t fit to fight that night and had expressed his desire for a rematch. The date of the bout has not been announced, but is targeted to take place during the summer.
