Sources Say Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson Was 30 Pounds Over Two Weeks Ago

CageJunkies has learned from sources with direct contact to Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson that the would be middleweight weighed in at 215 lbs at least two weeks ago. To put this into context, Johnson would have had to lose 3o lbs. in two weeks to make weight for his fight with Vitor Belfort at UFC 142.

We asked resident UFC veteran Charles ‘Chainsaw’ McCarthy about cutting so much weight in two weeks and he said the following:

“Thirty pounds is an extraordinary amount of weight. I was a big cutter and I would do 20 pounds in two weeks. As a matter of fact, I have never met a fighter that started his cut over 205 to get down to 185 pounds in that timeframe.”

This additional nugget of information makes Johnson getting sick leading up to the weigh-in more believable as such a major weight loss probably caused him to become ill, necessitating the fluids that caused him not to make weight (what a viscous cycle!).
